The Foodie: We all have these nights, when we randomly crave for odd things such as a Soft drink, or a chocolate, or a muffin. For me it is Brownies. The problem is, not always can you set out in your Pjs to satisfy your sweet tooth, that craves! Therefore as a foodie, I always keep my house stocked with baking and cooking ingredients, especially on nights and hours when you can’t just walk into your favorite confectionery store and demand happiness.
If you are a brownie person like me, keep the following in your kitchen. Butter, Sugar, Cocoa Powder, Vanilla Essence, Eggs, Chocolate Chips (optional but so so good) or Dark Chocolate. After going through a lot of blogs, you tube videos and experimenting with a lot of crazy math involved (unitary method and conversions, mainly :P) , I finally managed to nail down a simple microwave brownie recipe, which is quick to whip and so easy to make.
Time taken: 15 minutes
Step 1: Take 100 gms of butter and let it soften, or microwave it for 10 seconds. To let it soften is the preferred method. I was in a hurry 😛
Step 2: Add 9 tablespoons of Sugar and mix well.
Step 3: Add 3 tablespoons of Cocoa Powder, and mix well.
Step 4: Add 2 eggs. And mix well.
Step 5: Add 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Essence
Step 6: Add 5 tablespoons of Flour and fold it in well.
Step 7: Prepare your Baking Dish and pour the batter in 🙂
Step 8: While you are at it don’t forget to spend a minute just licking the remaining batter and thinking about the good things in life 🙂
Step 9: Put the batter in the microwave and let it bake for 3 minutes! Check if it is done completely, with the help of a fork.
Step 10: Sprinke some sugar on top and cut them into squares
Step 11: Enjoy your Brownies with a glass of milk!
Tip: Adding Chocolate Chips or pieces of Dark Chocolate at Step 7, makes these brownies even more tasty!
